Chamdo can be reach by road or by air

By road, you can get to Chamdo from Chengdu, Xining or Lijiang

By air, you can board the plane at Chengdu Shuangliu international airport.

Chamdo is still closed to foreign tourists; but foreign tourists can travel to Chamdo by road on their road trip to Lhasa.
