Day01: Xining sightseeing

Meals: B/L/D

Hotel: 4* Shengli Hotel or same level

start this tour in the morning with drive 25km to Ta'er monastery (located in Huangzhong county), it is the biggest monastery in Qinghai(of Gelupa order) which was the birth place of Chongkhaba (founder of Gelupa). In Xining city, visit the Dongguan Muslim temple (one of the 4 most famous Muslim temples in China).

Day02: Xining to Korkolor lake

Meals: B/L/D

Drive to Korkolor lake from Xinning. Korkolor lake (Qinghai lake) is the biggest salty and holy lake in China west. It has a water over 4400 square kilometers. Enjoy the day there on taking boat for sightseeing.

Day03: Korkolor lake to Mardo

Meals: B/L/D

Leaving Lake for Gonghe passing by Heimahe and Daotanghe. Visit Chapucha mosque at Gonghe.Enjoying and taking photos along the way. The Yellow River flows by Mardo town, the first bridge over Yellow river is here.

Day04: Mardo to Yushu (Jyekundo)

Meals: B/L/D

Passing the Bayankhara mountains, at the pass, overlooking the vast valley below. Before arriving Yushu, visit the Xiewu monastery and local houses; visit Daka monastery (of Kagyulpa) and Gyanha Mani gallet at Xinzhai village.

Day05: Yushu sightseeing

Meals: B/L/D

Visit Banchen monastery (of Kagyulpa) at Batang village and the wide grassland. On Jul. 25th of every year, the grand Yushu Kham horse racing festival will be held here. Visit the temple for princess Wencheng and Gyiegu monastery (of Sakyapa).

Day06: Yushu to Seashuel monastery at Shiqu

Meals: B/L/D

Today, the departure should be early, generally speaking, start the tour at around 0800AM; on the way, Visit Seashuel monastery (of Kagyulpa), 40 kilometers before arriving Seashuel county.

Day07: Shiqu (Seashuel) to Manigange

Meals: B/L/D

Hotel: guesthouse

Visit Dzochen monastery at Dzochen village, this monastery is one of the most 3 famous Nyingmapa sect monasteries; at Manigange, spending time by Lake Xinluhai (or named as Tsolha lake), see the picture to the left.

Day08: Manigange to Derge

Meals: B/L/D

Hotel: Derge Hotel or same level

Drive 110 kilometers to Derge; after climbing over Cholha pass (5050 M). from Manigange, drive 40 kilometers to reach the top of the moutain pass and after the pass, drive further 70 kilometers downward to reach Derge; at Derge, visit Derge printing house and Gengchen monastery (Sakyapa sect).

Day09: Derge to Paryuel

Meals: B/L/D

Hotel: Baiyu Hotel or same level

Visit Palpun (Babang) monastery and Katoc monastery (of Nyingmapa) at Hepo village.

Day10: Paryuel (Baiyu) to Ganzi

Meals: B/L/D

Hotel: Golden Yak Hotel or same level

In the morning, visit the famous Paryuel (Baiyu) monastery, which is overlooking the small mountainious town and the river which flows through the county town; Paryuel monastery is one of the most famous Nyingma monasteries in Kham area; in history of Kham, Nyingma cast great influence of the development of local culture. After this, drive about 200 kilometers to reach Ganzi; on half way, do a quich look to Mengyi monastery at Changtai village.

Day11: Ganzi sightseeing

Meals: B/L/D

Hotel: Golden Yak Hotel or same level

Visit Ganzi monastery which is on the top of a hill in the north of the town, and overlook the whole town. After the arranged visit, free time inthe city.

Day12: Ganzi to Xinlong to Litang

Meals: B/L/D

Hotel: Litang Hotel or same level

Drive along the Yalong river valley, enjoy its nature beauty. At Litang, visit the Litang monastery. The 7th Dalai Lama was born around here and stayed here for sevral years when Tibet was in war in 18th century.

Day13: Litang to Daocheng

Meals: B/L/D

Hotel: Tianshi Hotel or same level

Early set out for Daocheng, on the way there, visit the Haizi mountains (there are a lot of rocks and stones in all kinds of shape here, it is also a national park for the remnants from the movement of ancient glaciers) and Rabbit peak (its peak looks like the ears of a rabbit). Haizishan area is a good place for taking photos. Before arriving at Daocheng, visit the Bangpu monastery and Zhigong monastery. At night, enjoy a spring bath.

Day14: Daocheng to Yading

Meals: B/L/D

Drive to Yading, choose to ride a horse in or hike into the valley, enjoy the views along the valley. Luorong ranch is a wide grass land, it is surrounded by three snow peaks, two of them are 5958m, the third one is 6032m. The shape of third peak looks like a sword head. Enjoy the sunset at Luorong ranch.

Day15: Yading to Daocheng

Meals: B/L/D

Hotel: Tianshi Hotel or same level

The beauty of the snow peaks at Luorong ranch is impressive and wonderful. In 1920s - 30s, an American adventurer named Luoke once trekked through here, and his writtings about here caused tremendous impact on western adventurers and European society. After here, ride or hike back to the entrance. Then drive back to Daocheng.

Day16: Daocheng to Zhongdian

Meals: B/L/D

Hotel: 4* Sightseeing Hotel or same level

At Xiangcheng, Visit the Sangphe monastery (land area over 10,000m, built in 1654), thendrive on the zigzaging road through mountains to Zhongdian. At Zhongdian, visit Songzhanlin monastery.(the biggest and most famous Tibetan monastery in Yunnan province).

Day17: Zhongdian to Lijiang

Meals: B/L/D

Hotel: 4* Jianlanchun Hotel or same level

Drive to Lijiang from Zhongdian, visit the Tiger jumping gorge at Shigu town, the Jinsha river turns to northeast here. Lijiang old town area looks like traditional Chinese garden style buildings, spend time there strolling around through the old streets and enjoy the beauty of old constructions. At night, opitional choice to enjoy the local Naxi music performance. (Naxi is one of the local minorities)

Day18: Lijiang sightseeing

Meals: B/L/D

Hotel: 4* Jianlanchun Hotel or same level

Leisure time in Lijiang old town area.

Day19: Lijiang to Kunming by air

Meals: B

Hotel: N/A

Fly to Kunming from Lijiang. Upon arriving at Kunming, free time, you can choose to fly back to Home or to other city to connect your tour.
