13 days overland travel along Yunnan Tibet highway through Basu and BomiKunming - Lijiang - Zhongdian - Derchen - Mangkham - Basu - Bomi - Bayi town - Gongbu Gyangdha - LhasaDay01: Kunming to Lijiang by airMeals: B/L/D In the morning, fly to Lijiang. Upon arrival, local guide will meet you. Visit Lijiang old city and the Lijiang museum of Dongba culture. Day02: Mt. Yulong sightseeingMeals: B/L/D Visit the Yulong snow mountain, which is about 15km to the north of this old town. Stroll in the Lijiang old town in the left time. Day03: Lijiang to Shangri-la (220KM)Meals: B/L/D Drive to Shangri-la from Lijiang, on the way, visit the Tiger Jumping Gorge, and the “First Bend of the yangtse River” at Shigu town. In the afternoon arrive in Shangri-la, with an altitude of 3200m, most of the residents here are Tibetans. Day04: Shangri-la sightseeingMeals: B/L/D In the morning, visit the Sumsanling Monastery, which was created in 1679 by the Fifth Dalai lama. It is considered as the most important monastery of Gelukpa - sect in Yunnan province. In the afternoon walk to visit Dabao Si Monastery. Day06 Yajing to Mangkham to Zuogong (245KM)Meals: B/L/D Yanjing is a nice place to stroll around, enjoy the peace of life, visit a Church at the north end of the town. then drive 90 kilometers northward to Mangkang, having lunch at Mangkham town, a small city on the important Sichuan - Tibet Highway (Chengdu - Lhasa). From there, turn left and keep drivin gto Zuogong; On the way to Zuogong from Mangkham, drive over 3 muntain passes, the view on this part of drive is impressive and very beqautiful in summer and fall time. Day07: Zuogong to Bangdha to Basu to Ranwu lake (295 kilometers)Meals: B/L/D Following a river upstream to Bangdha, it is a very small town, driving to the north from here is Bangdha airport, to west is to Basu, between Basu and Bangdha is the famous and very high Nujiang mountain range and deep valleys; after passing by Basu county, driving further 100 kilometers southward to Ranwu lake. Day08: Ranwu to BomiMeals: B/L/D
Day09: Bomi to Linzhi to Bayi townMeals: B/L/D After Ranwu, driving downstream to Bomi, the scenery in and around Bomi town (Tsmu town) is typical subtropical weather. From the town, people can see exposing snow peaks. Day10 Bayi to Basongtso lake to Gongbu Gyangdha to LhasaMeals: B/L/D On the way, leave hotel early (suggested around 0700), drive into a valley to visit the Basongtso (Lake), the snow mountain, the crystal lake, the lush trees and the monastery make up a nice paradise for living. after it, drive about 300 kilometers westwards to Lhasa. Day11: Lhasa sightseeingMeals: B/L/D
Day12: Lhasa sightseeingMeals: B/L/D Visit Tsepung monastery which is the biggest monastery in Tibet. Then visit Sera monastery and Norbulingka which can give you deep impression of Tibet arts and civilization. Day13: Lhasa to your destination by airMeals: B Take morning flight to your next stop.
