from Ganden Monastery to Samye Monastery
Tibet is a highland featuring on high mountains and deep rivers. Its features of geography made itself cut off from the rest of the world for a long time, many adventurers from Germany, Britain, America, Japan and Russia had failed in 19th century and early 20th century on their way to Lhasa and to Mt. Everest because of reasons of nature and human. As a tour opeator in Tibet travels, we have gathered rich and helpful experiences on highland trekking. In Tibet, there are several nice trekking routes for trekkers and adventurers to take after their regular travel in Tibet, for example, after their visits to Lhasa, Tsetang or Shigatse.

Start your journey to Tibet with a spectacular flight over the snow capped Hengduan mountains. In Lhasa, visit the Potala Palace - the famous palace of the Dalai Lama, Norbulinkha, the great Drepung Monastery and the holy Jokhang Temple. Stroll in the crowded Tibetan local market - the bustling Barkor Bazaar. Pay your homage to Ganden monastery, the first Gelupa monastery and Samye monastery, the first Tibet Buddhism monastery recorded in history, Samye monastery belongs to Nyingmapa order (the red sect). In the last two days, visit the first palace in Tibet - Yongbulakang palace for the first king in Tibet recorded history and Changdrok temple which is among the first 108 temple built in 7th century.
Day01: Flying to Lhasa

Take morning flight into Tibet, upon your arrival, local guide will meet you and transfer you to Lhasa. On the way, you can enjoy the heart - beating highland view along the Yalu Zangbu river (the longest river in Tibet, the lower reach in India is called Brham Putra river); in the afternoon, you are free for relaxing and more Oxygen.
Day02: Lhasa sightseeing

In the morning, visit the grand - looking Potala Palace, which was built in the 7th century for the King. In the afternoon, visit Jokhang temple and stroll in the famous local bazaar - Parkhor street.
Day03: Lhasa sightseeing

Visit the Tsepung monastery, which is the biggest monastery in Tibet. After lunch, visit Sera monastery and Tibet museum.
Day04: Lhasa to Tsurphu monastery to Lhasa

Day excursion to Tsurphu Monastery of White sect of Tibet Buddhism.
Day05: Lhasa to Ganden

Drive to Gandan from Lhasa city. Visit the first monastery of Gelupa order - Ganden monastery. After lunch, start trek to Hebu Valley. It takes about 4 hours to reach the village and camp above. Have a good rest here before tackling the pass.
Day06: Trek

Accommodation: camping
Trek over the pass to South Base, then Camp of Shogar La, 6 - 7 hrs. This is the most difficult day of this trek, so make sure to start early.
Day07: Trek

Cross the Gamba La and camp by the riverside, 6 - 7 hrs.
Day08: Trek

To Malong, 6 hrs.

To Samye 5 hrs. Afternoon, visit the Samye monastery and camp nearby.
Day10: Samye to Tsetang

Get to Ferry by local truck, the cross it to drive to Tsetang. Transfer to the hotel. Afternoon, visit Yumbu Lhakang and Chamdrok Temple.
Day11: Tsetang to airport to your next stop

In the morning, we have a program to visit the famous Nyingmapa sect monastery - Mintorlin monastery, which is located at the half way of Tsetang city and Lhasa Gonggha airport; this monastery is not built iin a town area, till now, it is surrounded by peaceful villages and farmlands; after here, drive to airport, having lunchh at simple restaurant at airport, then you are free to wait for your flight, take flight to your destination.
